Working with Paul Downs has been a great experience! Our project required a conference table that seats 35 people. None of our furniture vendors were able to accommodate our needs as it related to the conference room table. The time limit on our project was looming and we were getting discouraged. So out of frustration we Googled “large conference tables” and found Paul Downs. What an amazing find! We talked, visited his workshop (he had preliminary designs ready upon our arrival based on our conversation), we exchanged ideas and like magic, less than two months later, we have a conference room table that simply takes your breath away. The work product is amazing! The craftsmanship and creativity is unbelievable. We could not be more pleased.

I have had the pleasure of working with Paul Downs Cabinetmakers on two occasions over the past 6 months. Choosing a company that builds structures based upon Web site photos and phone contact is a bit risky, especially when the item is a large wooden conference table costing over $20K and the need to ascertain quality workmanship and ease of conducting business is key. As in most cases, on our first encounter, we were under the gun to make a decision in order to meet our time line so after a few back and forth phone calls, exchange of drawings, and sample wood types, we took a leap of faith and banked on Paul Downs.

We were not disappointed in our decision. In fact, the entire transaction more than met our expectations. The table (24 ft long) was exquisite! The quality was superb, the delivery was on time, the assembly was quick and painless, and the interactions with Paul Downs were perfect. Although it's difficult to believe, doing business with Paul Downs Cabinetmakers was flawless and his product is of the utmost highest quality. When I was asked to source another conference table a few months later, I did not even consider other vendors. I contacted Paul Downs and ordered a second table. The table arrived yesterday, right on schedule. It is - you guessed it, exquisite!

Everyone who sees the new flame cherry conference room table is in awe of its beautify and function. The first compliment came from the office furniture company that installed the table - they couldn't believe how thoughtfully designed and easy it was to put together. And the custom hatches with built-in power, USB, cat 5 ethernet, S-video, VGA, and HDMI allow us to easily connect our technology without running cables all over. At first, faculty, staff, and students were afraid to sit at the table because it is so beautiful and they were worried about spills. I told them I purposely spilled red wine on the wood sample and let it sit for over an hour with absolutely no staining, so now everyone asks to use this room first over others that may be available. The best part of the renovation project was that I was able to order an incredibly beautiful handmade table with all the features I required that was actually made in the United States at a price that was comparable to imported assembly line tables. It is clear to me that Paul Downs Cabinetmakers truly believes in the tradition of creating custom-tailored heirloom furniture that will last for generations, and I'm proud to say I have one.
